660 _19Aug25-nh19_1601_nn Leaving San Francisco.	The night of Sept 8, Faxai hit Tokyo. In the morning Tokyo was still standing, but all trains were stopped and all businesses in Tokyo failed to open. When the wind stopped, an unbearable humidity and heat descended. Unable to do anything, I headed for the airport a couple hours early. That proved fortunate, since the Tokyo expressway was still in paralysis. The limousine bus had to take surface streets.
