It is very cold. The temperature dipped to 22 F (-5.5 C) the previous night, and is not much warmer. The sun is warm, but there is high wind on the rim. We did not bring clothing suitable for such conditions. Our brains are functioning slowly. Descent into the canyon brought relief from the wind. The second day was even colder - 18 F (-7.7 C), but without wind. |
